The Blue Jackets were supposed to be a contender.

No one thought that...at least no one credible.

Winner: Columbus Blue Jackets: With many GMs saying they wouldn't part with first-round picks, GM Jarmo Kekalainen landed two first-round draft picks, a third and a fourth, for Foligno and Savard.

Loser: Blue Jackets: The fact they traded their captain and a key defenseman instead of preparing for the playoffs means something has gone terribly wrong. The Blue Jackets were supposed to be a contender.

How is one team a loser and a winner? lol
No one expected the jackets to be a contender this year, most people thought they would be on the playoff bubble. They shipped out two UFA's for 2 first round picks and will most likely sign Foligno back in the summer. With Werenski on IR as well they are in prime position to tank and get a top pick. That is a massive win.

I mean in his first paragraph he devalues Foligno and Savard as being impossible to move for firsts....then proceeds to call them key players.

Sabres trade was underwhelming. But the blame on Kevyn Adams is misplaced. Several reports indicate that Hall, in fact, used his NMC to direct a trade to the hockey team from Boston. KA had zero leverage.
Buffalo essentially bought a second round pick for the price of 56/81 x $6MM.

What’s to hate is Bjork at over twice the price, and twice the term, of Curtis Lazar.

I'll only respond to one of your four posts...

I agree.

Adams was in a tight spot, dealing with an expiring contract and a NMC. Not much he could do.

Yeah but the NMC came from him too, so not sure we can absolve him of all responsibility on this one

While I agree 100% Adams did have another option - let Hall play out the season in Buffalo. He was getting screwed either way but I think letting Hall play out his contract would have been less bad.

I think the Islanders made the biggest improvement at the deadline. They are going to be very tough in the playoffs.

how are the leafs a winner?

they gave up 1/3 of their draft picks over the next 2 seasons, and got a 3rd liner and 2 guys who will routinely be healthy scratched or on the taxi squad.

they massively overpaid for average to mediocre assets that in no way put them 'over the top"

You may not hear many Leafs fans say this but the only winning we care about (besides beating Habs of course) is in the playoffs. The off-season and TDL acquisition hype is just not gonna cut it.

In your unbiased opinion, lol

Leafs did extremely well, so did Detroit and the Islanders. Biggest losers were EDM and WPG for doing nothing, and BUF and PHI for doing next to nothing, and getting underwhelming assets back for the few players they did move out

Synopsis :
Your hate for Leafs is strong
Your intellect and ability to reason are very weak
You lack character and are a coward that does not have the balls to post which team you cheer for
Conclusion : you are a mistake

the leafs paid a 1st and 4th for a 10 goal, 30 pt bottom six forward........

you gave up a 3rd rd pick for a 3rd string goalie.....

you gave up a 5th for a dman who's probably not good enough to make half the taxi squads in the NHL.....

you guys traded a 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th rd pick and got back one bottom six forward and 2 taxi squad players............

Not a leaf fan but Foligno is the kind of guy you want in the post-season, he lead that charge that dismantled Tampa a few a years ago and the shutdown line against TO last year.
